"Are you interested in buying a home?' is the question asked bya young man to the few Bucharest inhabitants who visited the realestate fair at Palatul Copiilor (Children's Palace) on Sunday - arainy day.
Young women dispensing fliers, around 40 exhibitors, but offersmainly targeting the outskirts of the city and outside Bucharest -this is what Bucharest inhabitants found there, so few visitorswere satisfied upon leaving the fair.
The new offers promoted by developers target the Frumusani,Cernica, Popesti-Leordeni, Bragadiru and Mogosoaia areas, which donot seem to be attractive to young people, but only to olderpeople, who wish to leave behind the hustle and bustle of thecity.
"Things are the same as they were two months ago. All affordableoffers are for homes outside Bucharest. We will eventually go foran old apartment, in an area with easy access to the tube, a parkand supermarkets. We have been looking for a home for two or threemonths, having had our loan approved via the 'First Home' scheme,"says Raluca Constantinescu, 23, who works in the travel industry.
