The Body Shop targets 2.7m-euro business

Cosmetics network The Body Shop targets a 12% sales increase on the local market, to 2.7 million euros, and has budgeted investments worth 400,000 euros to open two new stores and refit existing ones. Last year, The Body Shop Romania posted sales worth 2.4 million euros and a 13% net profit rate. "In Romania, The Body Shop intends to expand in key locations, both in Bucharest and in the provinces. Our plans for 2008 were aimed at opening two stores, with the overall investment set to amount to around 200,000 euros, which includes fitting out the store, as well as merchandise," said the company's executive manager, Dana Tudorache. The company has already opened a store in Baneasa Shopping City, while a decision is yet to be made for the second store. At the same time, The Body Shop invested 200,000 euros to refit its four stores in Bucharest and the two in Timisoara and Constanta.
