The real estate market has been in deadlock since the beginning of the year due to the negative statements made by influential people in the business world and by real estate agencies, which have taken advantage of the unfavourable international climate, believes Stefan Gheorghiu, former country manager of American developer Polimeni and of the local office of Austrian investment fund Europolis. "What has happened on the real estate market since the beginning of the year is frustrating. There have been many negative statements which influenced investors on the real estate market, such as the one made by Dinu Patriciu at the beginning of the year, as well as by other influential people in Romania," says Gheorghiu, owner of real estate consulting and development company Tegron Consulting.
