Delta Holding, one of the largest companies on the Serbian market, with turnover estimated at 3 billion euros this year, has put Romania on its list of regional expansion targets, after tapping onto the Bulgarian market last year via an acquisition. "Entering the Romanian market is part of our group's medium-term plans (i.e. over the next five years). Currently, the markets we are already operating on are our priority, so it is too early to talk about concrete plans in Romania," Dragan Filipovic, CEO of Delta Maxi Group told ZF. Delta Maxi Group is a part of Delta Holding, the largest private business in Serbia, held by businessman Miroslav Miskovic, who is considered to be the richest man in Serbia. The group operates in retail, the food industry, agriculture, the automotive industry, real estate and financial brokerage. Delta Maxi Group, the retail division, currently dominates Serbian retail, with over 360 stores operating under the Maxi brand, which posted more than 900 million euros in sales in 2007.
