Romaqua enters beer market and expands abroad

13.11.2006, 18:49 13

The Romaqua Group, one of the biggest Romanian-held companies, intends to build production centres outside Romania as well, and is also contemplating entering the beer market. "We are looking at foreign markets as investors, we want to build factories elsewhere. It is a project we are currently examining, and which would be a normal step in the group's development," said Romaqua's chairman, Octavian Cretu, who owns 43% in the company. The chairman of Romaqua, leader of the mineral waters industry, believes the potential opening of new branches of the group in other countries should not have a negative impact on its unity. "We hope we will have a holding law, especially since the shift to the Anglo-Saxon accounting system will ensure the necessary conditions for a holding law to exist, permitting us to use our available resources anywhere within the group," added Octavian Cretu.
