George Mucibabici, chairman of Deloitte Romania, the companythat provided advice for the concession of the Bacau Airport saysthat the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Law is not permissiveenough and that project preparation may take as long as twoyears.
Deloitte, together with law firm Bostina and Asociatii andIPTANA company, provided consultancy to the Bacau County Councilfor the leasing the Bacau Airport for a 34-year period, which willattract 45 million-euro investments from Blue Air company held bybusinessman Nelu Iordache over the next 30 months.
The contract was closed, financially speaking, on the 27th ofJanuary, although preparations started in 2007.
The thorough feasibility study, the low interest of theauthorities and the many things that are not specific enough in theconcession law are the main problems hindering the carrying out ofthe public-private partnership contracts.
