June brings first declines for Japanese car brands

In the first six months of the year, Japanese carmakers present on the domestic car market (Nissan, Honda and Toyota) sold a total of 6,509 units, up by over 80% against the same time last year. Car sales of Japanese manufacturers saw slight declines in June against the previous month, with the biggest decline being seen by Nissan, followed by Honda. Nissan sold 193 vehicles in June, down from the 243 units sold in the preceding month. In the first six months of the year, Nissan sales reached 1,240 units, a slight increase on the 1,234 units sold in the first six months of last year. Honda sales in June declined 16% against the previous month, to 152 units. Honda Trading Romania sold 796 units, in the first six months of the year, with the biggest sales being seen in May, with 181 cars being sold. Whereas Nissan and Honda sales did not exceed the 200-unit mark in June, Toyota saw up to four times higher sales in June, 836 units, slightly lower than the 844 cars sold in May.
