HP and Ericsson boost investment

Hewlett-Packard (HP), one of the worlda??s major producers of IT and electronic equipment, and Swedena??s Ericsson, the largest supplier of equipment for 3G telephony, will boost their investments on the Romanian market, focusing on services, component production and software development. HP will invest 10m euros over the next three years in a business coordination centre for the European region in Bucharest, while Ericsson wants to relocate part of its production to Romania and is using Romanian partners for outsourcing services. The undisputed leader of 3G telephony equipment segment, Ericsson, finds the Romanian IT&C market extremely attractive and expands its Romanian expert recruiting plans, Bill Zikou, Ericsson chairman for SE Europe, told Ziarul Financiar. The company has several domestic partners manufacturing components for telecom equipment and also developing software. a??We are increasing production in Romania, most of which will be handled by our partner of Timisoara, Solectron.
