Hagi's hotel triples occupancy rate over Easter

The four-star Iaki Hotel of Mamaia, owned by former footballplayer Gheorghe Hagi, will have 70% of its 122 rooms occupied inthe period of Easter holidays. The hotel will collect at least12,000 euros for the four days worth of business.

After the first three months were slower than last year's interms of event organization and occupancy rate, the 560 lei (136euros) package put up for sale brought the hotel more clientsoutside the season. For this year, the hotel's officials budgetedturnover worth 13m lei (3.2m euros), up 10% in lei from lastyear.

"We had occupancy rates as high as 20% in the first three monthsof this year. Over Easter, the hotel will have revenues of severalthousand euros," said Anca Nedea, general manager of the hotel.

Tourists will stay in the hotel from Friday to Tuesday morning.The hotel's clients include expats taking their families to theseaside.
