The listing of government securities on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) could take place in July, and trading-related technical tests could start on June 16, with the operation expected to be completed by the end of this month. "There have been weekly meetings between representatives of the NBR (National Bank of Romania), the CNVM (National Securities Commission) and the Ministry of Economy and Finance. We are in permanent dialogue. In principle, technical tests should start on June 16, and we should be done by the end of the month, at least as far as technical matters are concerned. Afterwards, regulation modifications need to be approved, and the ministry has to decide which securities are eligible," the general manager of the Central Depository, Adriana Tanasoiu, told ZF. As for technical tests, she mentioned that each entity involved needed to modify its system in order to see how they work together. "We are in the final stage of specifications. This is not about introducing new mechanisms, it is about agreeing on a joint format and on the way the two systems will communicate, i.e. the NBR's SaFIR system and the Central Depository's RoClear system. It is necessary for the securities to be transferable from one system into another (...)," explained Tanasoiu.
