12.05.2006, 00:00 21

Officials of the Austrian company Fruhwald, specialising in the production of cement prefabs, have announced that they intend to invest some 40 million euros in Romania in the next 10 years, to develop a network made up of six production facilities. Fruhwald started investing in the autumn of last year, when it bought the prefab plant in Vintu de Jos, which had until then been the property of Romanian-Austrian company Konnex Precission Tehnich. This unit will begin operations this summer and will manufacture pavement, floor systems, smoke cone systems, kerbstone, garden ornaments and even subassemblies for sewage systems. The facility will employ some 100 people. "The plant in Vintu de Jos was modernised, with the first stage of the investment standing at over 3.3 million euros. In the years to come, we intend to invest almost 6 million euros more in the plant. We estimate that after production is launched, the plant will see a turnover worth 1.5 million euros, and will reach 10 million euros in the next 2-3 years," stated Leonhard Luck, manager of Fruhwald.
