Events slowly return to companies' budgets

Demand is slowly picking up on the business event market afterthe first three months of this year against the same period of lastyear, when companies had given up event budgets. "I can say theevent market was not highly dynamic in the first three months ofthis year," stated Lucian Boronea, owner of Accent Travel &Events travel agency, with 14.5m-euro turnover last year. Againstlast year, though, companies have started earmarking budgets forevent organisation, according to Sorin Vaduvoiu, CEO of PerfectTour agency of Bucharest, gaining almost 15% from eventorganisation. Cristina Turnagiu Dragna, a brand ambassador withfive-star Carol Parc Hotel in Bucharest, also said companies werecurrently more active, were coming up with projects for eventscarried out over several months and budgets were not necessarily"crisis ones". Sorin Ghinescu, marketing & corporate managerwith DPD courier, says companies decide to organise business eventsdepending on sales.
