eMAG opens service company: First external client is Samsung’s local subsidiary

IT&C retailer eMAG, the biggest on the Romanian market, hasturned its service department into an independent company, which itwholly owns, that will provide repair services for products sold byother companies, as well, Iulian Stanciu, the company's generalmanager, told ZF.

"We have decided to outsource the service department into aseparate company, called ServSkills, which we wholly own. Thecompany's general manager is Adrian Antohi, former head of eMAG'sservice department," said Stanciu.

"We have thought we could outsource this department in order tocut costs and that we could also provide these services for theproducts sold by other players. We offer service for what eMAGsells and we have already signed a contract with Samsung, foralmost the entire product range, apart from big home appliances,"said Stanciu.

"The company was set up in 2010, it has been functioning sinceFebruary and has 30 employees, nearly half of whom are servicetechnicians," said Adrian Antohi.
