Construction materials producer Elpreco, based in Craiova, controlled by American investment fund Broadhurst, estimates a 25% turnover increase for this year, to some 48 million euros. "This year we estimate a 25% turnover increase against 2006, amid the high demand for construction materials caused by an upward trend of development in the constructions sector, which is expected to continue. Moreover, we are anticipating significant increases, prompted by the investments funded by the European Union by accessing structural funds," stated Dan Caprioara, general manager of Elpreco, a company based in Craiova. The turnover posted in 2006 stood at 38.9 million euros, a figure exceeding initial estimates, up by some 27% against 2005. This increase was the result of over 30 million-euro investments conducted by Elpreco in the last 10 years. These investments included funds for new production facilities and the modernisation of existing ones, as well as the diversification of its product range. The product with the biggest share in the company's turnover is AA (Autoclaved Aerated Concrete), whose sales volume reached 64.5 million RON (18.3 million euros) in 2006, up 25% against 2005.
