Sales of the Automobile Dacia producer rebounded in March, increasing by 13% against the 38% decline witnessed in the first month of the year, as well as a 22.7% drop in February. Overall 20,586 Logan cars and light commercial vehicles were sold in March. The increase witnessed in March, a result of the demand for Dacia cars, balanced sales in the first quarter, so that sales were 2% lower than in the first three months of 2006. In Q1 of 2007, Dacia sold 45,706 cars, almost 1,000 units less than in the same period last year. The main reason for this, company representatives say, was the lack of a commercial vehicle in its portfolio between the time when the Dacia pick-up truck was discontinued and the launch of the Logan VAN. In that period, the lack of a utility vehicle generated a 48.6% drop to 1,776 units for Dacia commercial vehicles. According to the French manufacturer, Romania, the 7th most important country for the carmaker, saw 25,686-unit sales, almost 20,000 of which were Dacia and 5,800 of which were Renault, with Dacia's market share standing at 40.02%.
