Postal and courier service company Curiero, one of the largest players on the domestic courier market, intends to become involved in international regional courier activities starting next year, and is considering acquiring a regional courier company. Through this move, Curiero could put cities like Sofia, Budapest and Kiev on the list of destinations for parcel deliveries. Currently, the company delivers parcels only to domestic destinations. "We saw the opportunity of providing regional courier services; this is our chance to grow. At the same time, we are considering acquiring a courier company ranking 3rd or 4th on one of the regional markets. If we acquire a foreign player, we will also begin to operate courier services on that market," said Bogdan Carcu, president of Curiero. Among the countries targeted by the company are Bulgaria, Hungary, Ukraine, and Yugoslavia. "In terms of volumes, Hungary is very attractive. As for Bulgaria, it has a considerable growth potential," specified Carcu.
