CEZ is optimistic and sees the 101 turbines of Cogealac installed in 2011

CEZ Czech energy group, present in Romania since 2005 when ittook over the majority stake in the former Electrica Oltenia, saysthat starting the end of June 47 wind mills of the 114 installed inFântânele, Dobrogea, have been generating energy and hopes tofinish installing the other 101 turbines in Cogealac in 2011,despite the conflict it has with the town hall.

The international press has reported on the conflict, whichended up in shooting at the end of last month. Despite theconflict, which has delayed works in Cogealac, due to start at thebeginning of the year, the Czech group says that the 101 windmillswill be installed in 2011.

Overall, the two wind farms in Fântânele and Cogealac will havea capacity of 600 MW, almost equalling that of a nuclear reactor ofCernavodă station.

"For the moment, we do not have any news. We're working with thesame security firm and awaiting the conclusions of the officialinvestigation," stated Iulia Borşan, head of the externalcommunication department with CEZ Romania.
