Burger King and Nestle replace Everest in Piaţa Romană

Burger King, operated as a franchise by businessmen Eli Davidaiand Marius Nasta, through Atlantic Restaurant System company, inRomania and the biggest Swiss food group Nestle are the new tenantsof the more than 440 square metre space in Piaţa Romană occupied bythe Everest restaurant until March. "We rented the about 443 squaremetre area plus its 300 square metre outdoor space for a BurgerKing fast food restaurant and for a Nescafe coffee shop for tenyears," stated the representatives of the Metropolitan Leasing, theowner of the space. Burger King management says that 70% of thespace will be taken up by the restaurant to be opened by yearend.Nestle did not provide any information about the new contract,saying that more details could be provided "in one week".
At an average rent of 40 euros per square metre as charged in thearea, Metropolitan Leasing will collect at least 200,000 euros peryear from this space alone. The former tenant, Everest Foods, leftthe space in March after having gone insolvent, pressured by thespace owner and its main creditor. The new restaurant and coffeeshop are sandwiched between the top two players on the fast-foodmarket, McDonald's and KFC
