Electronics and home appliances retailer Altex plans to sell 65,000 air conditioners this year, up 200% against last year, when it sold 21,000 units. According to the target set by the company, Media Galaxy and Altex stores are expected to sell more than half of air conditioners on the market this year, which players put at over 110,000 units. According to Altex representatives, the sales increase will be prompted by the high temperatures announced for the coming months, by the affordability of an air conditioner and by the modification of consumer behaviour, with consumers now viewing air conditioning as a necessity. At an 800-euro average price of an air conditioning device, the company's sales could reach over 50 million euros on this segment.
