Aedificia Carpati will consolidate and refurbish a building in Bucharest held by the Ministry of Administration and Interior (MAI) under a 373bn ROL (9.3 million-euro) contract, corporate sources said. The Economic-Administrative Department of the MAI had previously held a restricted tender to award the contract and got four bids. The contract was awarded to the best technical and economic bid. The works will be completed in two and a half years. The Economic-Administrative Department is part of MAI' Central Apparatus and provides logistics to the other units in this structure. The department is organised and runs as a distinct entity subordinated to the logistics state secretary within the MAI. Aedificia Carpati has works contracted or in progress worth 475bn ROL this year. Its most important project is the modernisation of Romania's National Contemporary Art Museum, a 157bn ROL project. Other projects concern the completion of the Central University Library's lecture room (80bn ROL), the consolidation and modernisation of the Bucharest City Police HQ (70bn ROL), the modernisation of the running track on the Dinamo Stadium (40bn ROL).
