Altex company, which owns electronics and home appliances store networks Altex and Media Galaxy, announced sales worth above 80 million euros in the first eight months of this year, according to Dan Ostahie, Altex chairman. "After the first six months of this year, we registered a 40% increase as to last year. Results posted after the first eight months are 30% better than last year's," Ostahie adds. He says the slower growth pace was due to the fact that last July and August were extremely favourable periods for sales. For the home appliances business, the best period in terms of sales is generally the second half of the year, when sales are almost double against the first half. Thus, the Altex official projects sales of at least 180 million euros for 2004. ZF
