Targu-Mures-based Mureseni, a producer of ceramic blocks, part of the Kronberger group, estimates a 6 million-euro turnover this year, up 10% against 2006. "We are predicting the upward trend in sales will maintain this year, as a result of the strong development of the construction materials market, which, according to our estimates, could increase by 10-12% against 2006, in the following period," stated the companyes financial manager, Gavri Teodor. In 2006, the company invested over 2 million euros in developing manufacturing technologies and in boosting its production capacity, an investment that will continue into this year, as well. "In the medium run, there will be a selection of companies in the field, due to the need to provide the production facilities with the equipment, which would ensure the technical performance required by European standards," specifies Gavri Teodor. The distribution network developed by Mureseni covers Sibiu, Bistrita-Nasaud, Brasov and Mures counties. The company produces and sells bricks and ceramic tiles. The latest products launched on the market are ceramic blocks for partition walls. Mureseni was set up in 1890 under the name "Fabrica de caramizi si tigle" (The bricks and tiles factory). Currently the company produces and provides bricks and ceramic blocks for buildings, with the companyes employees totalling 70 people. Mureseni is part of the Kronberger group of companies, which also includes Sastuc and Asco Grup Bucharest distributor. According to company representatives, the three companies were added to the Kronberger group three years ago. The Kronbergeres group main rival is Wienerberger Brick Systems, the local subsidiary of the Austrian group Wienerberger, which currently owns two brick plants in Sibiu and Gura Ocnitei.
