Zeelandia relocates outside Iasi

Zeelandia, a manufacturer of ingredients for the foods industry, is set to invest 4.5 million euros this year to relocate its entire operations to an industrial complex on a 22,000 square metre plot of land in Miroslava, close to Iasi. The production facility, the warehouse and the administrative headquarters of the company are currently housed in various rented locations in Iasi. "We bought a 22,000 square metre plot of land in Miroslava in Iasi county for approximately 550,000 euros. The new headquarters will be built on a 4,000 square metre plot and will be finished by the end of the year and become operational in the first quarter in 2009," said Cezar Gumeni, general manager of the company. The value of overall investments earmarked by the company this year will amount to approximately 4.8 million euros. The company also intends to invest in employee training and new equipment. Zeelandia, the local branch of the Dutch company by the same name, posted 32.5 million RON (9.7 million), an increase of 18% on the previous year and operating income worth 2.2 million RON (some 650,000 euro).
