19.09.2007, 18:19 8

Investment funds managed by Estonia's Trigon Capital have reached an exposure close to 38m euros on the Romanian capital market, double the level registered at the end of last year, when the fund held investments worth 17.5m euros on the BSE. Estonian funds invested almost 7m euros in the acquisition of Romanian shares in the first half. Investments on the Romanian market in late August accounted for around 11.2% in total assets of the five funds managed by Trigon Capital, which amounted to 335.5m euros. Trigon Capital invests on the domestic market through 3 funds, with Trigon Second Wave Fund as the biggest one, with assets worth 102m euros, of which 28.7m euros invested in stock of Romanian companies. Another two funds, Trigon New Europe Small Cap Fund and Trigon New Europe Top Pics Fund, have exposures of 4.9 and 4.1m euros, respectively on the Romanian market. Although they are not among the biggest foreign investment funds on the Romanian market, the funds that Trigon manages are among the most active. The structure of placements by Trigon funds witnessed significant changes in the first half of this year, with the Estonians increasingly betting on the shares of smaller, more dynamic companies, instead of blue chips, with weaker performance.
