Travel agent Paralela 45 expects turnover to go up 42%

Travel agent Paralela 45 forecasts an annual turnover worth 54 million euros, up 42% against last year's figure, according to Alin Burcea, majority shareholder and general manager of the company. "The agency posted revenues worth 44 million euros in the first nine months of this year, around 16% higher than last year's overall turnover. The higher than expected turnover is mainly triggered by a rise in foreign travel, which brings in around 50% of the turnover," he said. The ticketing segment generates 25% of the agency's revenues, while the business travel segment brings in a further 25%. The growth was both concentrated, with a higher number of charter flights and groups using the company's travel services, as well as extensive. "We have extended the agency network, and implicitly the number of employees," Burcea added.
