Transilvania Targu-Mures airport is set to witness passenger traffic levels of approximately 160,000 by the yearend, considering the 100,000 passenger mark is expected to be hit this month, according to the company's representatives. As a result, airport traffic will be three times as high against last year, when 47,316 passengers were registered. Companies operating from the airport of Targu-Mures include Air Traffic, Cimber Air, Malev, Tarom and Wizz Air. Malev launched the Targu-Mures destination at the beginning of 2006, while Wizz Air operated the first flight from Romania from Targu-Mures in the second half of last year. Wizz Air now flies from Targu-Mures to three destinations, Budapest, Rome and Barcelona, and is expected to introduce flights to London.
