Socar to bring refined petroleum products from Turkey

10.10.2007, 18:51 11

Socar, the largest petroleum and gas producer in Azerbaijan, says one of its first operations on the Romanian market will be the delivery of petroleum products processed in Turkey, through the company's own network of petrol stations. The Azerbaijan-based company has recently opened a representative office in Romania, which will coordinate Socar's future expansion on the Romanian market. "In the future, we are interested in delivering petroleum products processed in our Turkey-based refinery, and are considering opening a network of petrol stations here in Romania," says Hamza Karimov, manager of Socar's representative office in Romania. He did not specify the level of investments or the deadline for the strategy. Usually, investments in a petrol station amount to around one million euros, but sometimes reach 2 million euros, depending on the size and location of the petrol station.
