Six out of ten Romanian passengers of British Airways fly across the ocean

Six out of ten Romanian passengers travelling with BritishAirways on the Bucharest-London route continued their flight onlong-haul routes to destinations in the US, Africa or Asia, saysBulgarian-born Emil Delibashev, commercial manager of BritishAirways for the Balkan area, who last year took over the reins ofoperations in 11 countries.
By comparison, in 2009 only four out of ten Romanian passengerstransited the London airport to go to destinations across theocean.
BA, which operates three daily Bucharest-London flights in Romania,ended financial year April 2009-March 2010 with turnover worth 15meuros and expects this level to be exceeded in the currentfinancial year.
"Transatlantic flights will help turnover pick-up," stated the headof BA, whose aircraft operated at 90% of capacity onBucharest-London route this July.
Delibashev also specified the destinations in highest demand amongRomanians on long-haul flights were Johannesburg of South Africa,which hosted this year's World Football Championship, Hong Kong,Miami and New York.
