German group Siemens, one of the leading worldwide players in the industry sector, posted a turnover worth 290.3 million euros in Romania in the 2006 fiscal year ending September 30, a 21% increase against the same time last year. The growth seen for all activities that Siemens conducts here exceeded the group's global growth in 2006, which stood at 16%. "Given the integration into the European Union, the local market offers many opportunities, especially in the infrastructure field," said Adrian Baicusi, general manager of Siemens Romania. Siemens SRL, the local subsidiary of Siemens AG Austria, which operates as a centre on the domestic market that coordinates all the activities handled by the German group, posted a 205.7 million-euro turnover in the period considered, a 19% increase compared with the same time last year.
