Rondocarton's new plant to operate at just 20% of capacity in first year

15.12.2008, 20:07 17

Austrian group Rondo Ganahl, which has completed a 38 million-euro investment in its second cardboard plan in Romania, in Targoviste, expects its new manufacturing facility to operate at only 20% of its capacity in the first year of operating, and to generate 12 million-euro turnover. Rondo Ganahl also holds Rondocarton plant in Cluj county, which fetched it revenues worth 30 million euros last year, and which will operate at a 20% lower capacity next year, until it attracts new clients. "We have transferred some of the production of our Cluj facility to the new packaging plant. We will manufacture for already established clients in this region, thus cutting transportation costs. We are also attempting to attract new clients, but it is rather difficult because many of them already have packaging suppliers and we have to attract them through a more attractive offer," said Ioan Florin Grad, manager of the cardboard manufacturing facility in Targoviste.
