Fair and exhibition organiser Romexpo derived 71.8 million RON (over 20 million euros) turnover last year, an increase of 22% on 2005, while the gross profit rose by 16% to 26.5 million RON. The company has its own exhibition centre, located in northern Bucharest, made up of 42 pavilions with a display area of more than 100,000 square metres, 55,000 square metres of which are indoor exhibition space. The company has recently announced it would invest about 15 million euros to build two new pavilions, totalling 32,000 square metres. Romexpo officials say the two new pavilions will open early in 2009. Romexpo is the main organiser of national and international fairs and exhibitions in Romania.
