10.02.2006, 21:49 6

The project for creating an undersea cable linking Romania and Turkey''s energy systems was assessed as standing at a minimum of 300 million euros; work could be finalised in 2009, according to officials with the national grid company Transelectrica. This project is to be carried out by Transelectrica in collaboration with its Turkish counterpart, TEIAS. "Due to the complex nature of the work to be carried out, the project could take two years to complete. 300 million euros is the estimated level of costs, calculated by comparison with similar projects", stated Razvan Purdila, head of the international cooperation and capital markets department of Transelectrica.
