BDG, the importer of the Jack Daniel's and Corona brands, posted turnover worth 39.4 million RON (10.6 million euros) in the first five months of this year, up 139% against the same time last year. "The reasons behind this increase include the rise of the spirits market, the effectiveness of our operations and the introduction of Remy Cointreau brands (i.e. Metaxa, Remy Martin, Cointreau) in our portfolio, which we did not have the same time last year," said Petru Berciu, shareholder of BDG Import, of spirits distributor Tribeca in Bucharest, and of club network The Office. The representative of the spirits importer announced since as early as the beginning of this year that the Remy Cointreau range and the Metaxa brandy range would fetch the company sales worth around 6-7 million euros this year.
