Raul Ciurtin, the chairman and shareholder of Albalact, thebiggest independent producer in the dairy industry, has decided totalk for the first time about the acquisition bids he has receivedin the past year, about which he says that targeted "both a partialand a complete acquisition of the business". The company thatCiurtin drove from 2.5m-euro turnover ten years ago to over 50meuros in 2008, has been, starting last year, among the mostintensely wooed businesses on a market worth above one billioneuros, dominated by multinationals. Raul Ciurtin says that despitetalks for the sale of a stake, there is no time pressure for thesale of Albalact, especially given the current difficult marketconditions. This is why Ciurtin says he will take the time he needsto more closely examine the bids he receives in terms of what asale brings against the company's growth perspectives. "(...) Thereal price of the company is not just a price I want to get. Thisis why I do not have a set deadline for this sale," explainedAlbalact shareholder.
