Romanian investors can now invest in Raiffeisen's international funds, after the specialised division of the Austrian group, Raiffeisen Capital Management, launched 11 products on the Romanian capital market yesterday. The funds will be distributed through the branches of Raiffeisen Bank and Raiffeisen Exclusive. Raiffeisen Capital Management (RCM) holds a 23.4% market share, accounts for a volume of 45 billion euros in managed funds, and holds the top position in Austria on the fund market. "In Eastern Europe, we have invested 518 million euros in RCM funds so far. In Romania, the fund sector is still at an early stage, but its potential is enormous," RCM's general manager, Mathias Bauer, stated in a release. Currently, the value of RCM funds in Romania stands at two million euros, 7 million euros in Bulgaria, and 124 million euros in Hungary. "We studied the Romanian market to see what it requires, and decided which products would prove attractive. In time, if we notice there is a need to increase the number of funds, we will do so," Bauer said at a press conference. Bauer estimates that the 11 funds will reach a total value worth a few hundred million euros within the next few years.
