RAFO Onesti refinery cut fuel prices and decided to grant certain discounts following the evolution of the crude price on the international market.
"Following the decrease in the oil price on the international market, RAFO wants Romanians to benefit from the favourable circumstances as well, but in a way that does not hurt the company's profits," the refinery announced.
SNP Petrom and Rompetrol, the largest oil groups on the Romanian market, have not announced plans regarding the prices they charge. Under such circumstances, the announcement of RAFO Onesti is quite unlikely to influence the fuel prices at gas stations.
The Onesti-based refinery on Monday increased by 2,000 tonnes the supply needed to fuel the snow-blowers. The fuel is distributed by SNP Petrom warehouses.
RAFO was taken over by Imperial Oil Bacau at the end of October. RAFO main shareholder also owns the main stake in the Darmanesti-based refinery.
The Onesti-based refinery has a processing capacity of 3.5 million tonnes of crude oil annually and is an important auto fuel supplier within the province of Moldova.
The discount announced by RAFO will stand at 7% of the production price if the discountable payment devices are used and for amounts exceeding 1,000 tonnes and will reach 15% if payment is made in advance for amounts exceeding 1,000 tonnes.
The companies to benefit from the discount are those having conducted commercial operations worth at least 70 billion ROL with RAFO and having nation-wide distribution networks.
The price discount for diesel oil stands at 5% if payment is made in advance and for quantities exceeding 1,000 tonnes.
For the deliveries made directly to the recipient's transportation means, RAFO charges 6,147,700 ROL per tonne of Premium leaded gasoline and 6,854,100 ROL per diesel oil tonne, while SNP Petrom charges 6,461,000 ROL per diesel oil tonne and 6,343,000 ROL per tone of Premium leaded gasoline.
The price cuts and discounts announced by RAFO will be available by December 1, 2001.
