Porsche Romania, importer of the Porsche, Skoda, VW, Audi and Seat brands in Romania, delivered 12,324 cars in the first three months of the year, an increase of 49% against the same period last year. Skoda continued to be the most prolific brand within the portfolio accounting for 42% of the total sales, i.e. 5,294 units. Fabia, the small class model, ranked second with 1,721 units, being outranked by the Octavia Tour model with 1,729 units. Overall, Skoda saw a 33.5% increase in sales against the 3,976 units sold in the first quarter of 2006. The increase witnessed by medium-priced brands caused the importer to exceed its own growth estimates, with company representatives estimating a 15% annual average last month. For the whole portfolio of brands estimates reached 50,000 units, after the company manager revised the initial estimate of 47,500 units made at the beginning of the year. The Volkswagen brand comes second after Skoda in terms of sales, witnessing 4,680 orders on the car segment, an increase of 70%. Porsche Romania also took 831 orders for commercial vehicles.
