Porsche Romania, importer of the Porsche brand on the local market, aims to sell 130 Porsche-branded vehicles this year, 50% more than the 87 deliveries made in 2006, according to company representatives. The demand will be sustained, according to company estimates, by the launch of the new generation of SUVs. "The new generation of Porsche Cayenne will account for about 60% of the total sales for which we have set a 130-unit target in 2007," stated Alexandru Sermet, PR executive for Porsche Romania. Last year, orders for previous Cayenne models accounted for 65% of the total deliveries, which decreased however, by 3% against the level in 2005. By the launch date, according to information provided, 37 orders have already been placed for the model, almost half the sales of the brand for 2006. The price of models in the new range varies from 56,400 euros (VAT included), for the V6, 290 horsepower engine version, to 113,700 euros for the V8 turbo, a 500 horsepower version.
