Law firm Popovici Nitu & Asociatii, one of the leading players on the local law market, has recruited Serban Patriciu as senior lawyer with the project finance team. He formerly worked with the National Bank of Romania (NBR) and with law firm Zamfirescu Racoti Predoiu (ZRP). Patriciu worked with the NBR's legal department between 1999 and 2002, where he took part in negotiations with the European Central Bank with a view to making financial-banking legislation in Romania compatible with the EU acquis. Later, he held the position of senior lawyer with Racoti Predoiu law firm, which afterwards became Zamfirescu Racoti Predoiu. Apart from offering consulting to banks, Patriciu has also assisted in commercial and corporate law cases, as well as in major privatisation projects.
