Petromidia's losses go down

Rompetrol Rafinare (Rompetrol Refining), the leading Romanian-based branch of the petroleum group Rompetrol, has closed the first three months of 2007 with net losses of 3.26 million dollars (2.45 million euros) compared with net losses of 23 million-dollars (19 million-euro) in the first three months of 2006, according to the consolidated financial situations put together in line with international standards. Results include those of the Petromidia refinery and its subsidiaries: Rompetrol Petrochemicals, Rom Oil, Rompetrol Downstream and Rompetrol Logistics. The company's revenues, calculated in line with international accounting standards, reached 664.25 million dollars (499.4 million euros), an increase of 32% on the results posted in the first three months of 2006. Non-consolidated results indicate a net profit worth 35,213 dollars (26,475 euros), as compared with over 14.2 million dollars (11.7 million euros) in the first quarter of 2006. Net revenues reached 458 million dollars (349 million euros), an increase of 21% on the same time last year. "The company saw higher gross margins than for the same period in 2006, with a maximum of 74 4 dollars/tonne (55.6 euros/tonne) in March 2007 (...)," the company representatives say.
