The Mega Designer outlet store, located near the Bucharest exit of the Bucharest-Ploiesti motorway, will not be open until March next year, after it was originally scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of this year," Chang S. Oh, managing director of Mega Company, the project's developer, told ZF. "If you are unable to open a store several months before Christmas, in order to fully take advantage of this period, it is better to put it off until spring, since January is not a good month to open. We will open in March, because we have had to deal with several delays, which did not depend on us," said Chang. The project will be developed in two phases, with the first phase to include retail spaces that cover around 17,000 square metres. Mega Designer is not the only mall whose opening has been put off until next year. Other postponed projects include ERA Shopping Park in Oradea, Euromall in Galati and Sun Plaza in Bucharest. "We have had a lot of containers held back in Constanta harbour (the shopping centre is built with precast concrete brought by ship from the USA) (...)," Chang added.
