No Romanian private enterprises in top 500 companies in CEE

In the ranking of the top 500 largest companies in terms of turnover in Central and Eastern Europe, conducted by Deloitte, Romania is represented by 24 foreign companies and six state-owned companies, with the best-represented sector being the energy sector. Thirty Romanian companies are present in the ranking of the 500 largest companies in CEE, conducted by Deloitte Central Europe, with the support of Deloitte Romania. Similarly to last year, the leader of the ranking is Polish company PKN Orlen, while the highest-ranking Romanian company is Petrom, down 4 places from last year in 16th position. While Rompetrol climbed 23 places to 50, Mittal Steel Galati kept its position at 63, followed by Dacia, at 64, and Metro Romania, at 91. The best-represented sector in the 500-country ranking is the energy sector, with 13 companies. Among Central European countries, Poland dominates the ranking, with 176 companies. According to the Deloitte report, the overall turnover of Polish companies accounts for 34.3% in the overall revenues of the 500 companies, which is explained by the size of the Polish economy, compared with other economies in the region.
