MOL sales up 46%

MOL Romania Petroleum Products SRL, a subsidiary of the Hungarian oil group, last year logged revenues worth $75 million, up 46% since the previous year. The company ended the year with losses, though, according to the international accounting standards, like other operators on the Romanian market of gas stations. The Hungarian company is the second player on the fuel distribution market to announce a major revenue increase in 2002, after Italian group Agip said turnover had increased 51% in 2001. "The average fuel sales per gas station went up 40% in litres as compared to the previous year, which is a key indicator for the market share increase. At the same time, the number of gas stations went up to 47," said Aliz Kosza, executive manager of MOL Romania. ZF
