Midocar, the main VW and Audi dealer in Bucharest, after the Porsche Inter Auto network, estimates a 35 million-euro turnover this year, up almost 70% against 2006. The value of vehicles sold by Midocar in the first ten months of the year was worth around 27 million euros, whilst the dealer sold 940 VW cars and 163 Audis. According to Porsche Romania estimates, the average price of an Audi car sold in the first part of this year is 44,000 euros, whilst for VW it is 20,000 euros. Midocar holds a 6.3% market share of the total 14,810 VW vehicles sold (cars and utility vehicles), and 7.2% of Audi sales. Midocar's sales target for this year is 1,060 VW cars and 175 Audi vehicles. According to estimates made by Porsche Romania, VW vehicles will see 22,600 units sold this year, whilst Audi will sell over 2,400 units. In the first half of June next year, Midocar will inaugurate its new branch, Midocar Vitan, which will accommodate Audi, Volkswagen and Weltauto showrooms, which are dedicated to selling second-hand cars, with the new branch to start its activity in March 2008.
