Private medical services provider Medsana, one of the main local players in the medical services sector, will invest 25 million euros in the construction of a 200-bed hospital. "We have approved a plan which entails investments worth 25 million euros in a private hospital in the next two or three years. Next year, we will buy the land in the North of the Capital, in which we will invest 6 million euros. The rest of the money will be spent in the next few years," said Vassilis Chaniotis, general manager of Medsana Bucharest Medical Center. The hospital will employ 150 people, with the investment to be recouped in a ten-year period. As for the revenues, which the hospital is to generate, the head of Medsana said they were difficult to predict, given their size, but hoped they would stand at around 20 million euros a year. For 2008, Medsana targets a 9 million-euro turnover, up by almost 50% against 2007. This year's EBITDA is worth over 1 million euros. "2008 will see the clinic in Pitesti start operating, and we also predict the corporate segment will see a rise, having now reached 40% of the turnover," added Chaniotis.
