Match Point, the largest manufacturer of matches on the local market, forecasts a 2.8 million-euro for this year, up 47% on last year. In 2007, the Cluj-based company posted overall revenues worth 1.9 million euros, with sales up 50% in the first half of this year against the same time last year. "The main factors behind the turnover growth in the first half of the year against the same time in 2007 are the positive trend of the match market, as well as the opening of new stores. Second-half sales will be boosted by the development of large retail networks and by client diversification," said Maia Banciu, Match Point's communication manager. According to representatives of the Cluj company, although the local match market is on the rise, it is quite a limited one for Romania's potential. According to Match Point officials, the value of the Romanian match market stands at around 4-5 million euros.
