Both companies and individuals have over the past year scaledback telecom services consumption, but the steepest expensereductions were operated on the consumer segment, says DinuMalacopol, general manager of Digital Cable Systems and DialTelecom companies, with almost 30m euros in turnover last year.

Digital Cable Systems, operating under AKTA brand, providescable TV, Internet, fixed telephony and satellite TV services toconsumer clients and is one of the biggest players on the market.Dial Telecom works exclusively with legal entities. Both firms arecontrolled by AIG investment fund.
"Consumption rationing is much more visible on the segment ofindividuals," stated Malacopol, explaining that this behaviourleads either to delayed acquisitions of more expensive services, orcontract cancelation.
As for AKTA turnover trend, Malacopol says the only business linethat brought a significant increase in the first half wasInternet.
AKTA revenues rose in RON by 15% in the first half, but fell ineuros. The trend differed in the case of Dial Telecom, which sawits revenues go up by 30% in euros in the first half, amid a risingnumber of clients.
