Bucharest-based Majestic Hotel is expecting 2002 turnover to amount to $1.6 million, down 12% since the same time last year, with profits estimated at $300,000, general manager Mihail Acatrinei says. The four-star Majestic Hotel registered nearly 5,800 clients this year, with Romanian clients accounting for only 211 of the total. Majestic targets business people mainly. "I think the hotel market in Bucharest is expanding and we will see our business pick up next year," Acatrinei specified. The Majestic Hotel is currently running a four million-dollar investment, in order to expand its accommodation capacity from 70 to 114 rooms, and to have several conference rooms, a fitness centre and a swimming pool redone.
