Luxten Lightning, one of the most profitable companies in Romania, says it intends to be listed on a stock exchange within the next 3 to 5 years, according to company officials. "This decision was taken by the company's majority shareholders, and will be put into practice on medium term of approximately 3 to 5 years. It has not yet been decided whether we will be listed on a foreign stock market, or on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, or what stake will be listed. The project is still in its early stages," stated Monica Bucur, the company's financial manager. The company is present on the local market through its four divisions: a measurement equipment division (AEM Timisoara), a lighting products division (Luxten Bucharest), a public lighting division (PLD) and an electricity division (ETD). Last year, company representatives estimated a 92.2 million-euro turnover, a decrease of 11% on 2005, and a 22.3 million-euro gross profit. According to Bucur, this year the company's results will be influenced by an increase in the price of raw and other materials, and by utility costs. Results will also be affected by increased investments for modernising, expanding and improving the company's infrastructure.
