Kent generates rise in BAT sales

British American Tobacco Romania, producer of the Dunhill and Kent brands, saw a 3% rise in sales volumes in the first six months of this year against the same period in 2005. "The market share witnessed an 8% increase in volume against the first six months of 2005," stated Adrian Popa, corporate and regulatory affairs manager of BAT Romania. The BAT share in terms of value stands at 37.6% on the local market, according to company information, quoting an AC Nielsen study from June this year. In the first six months of the year, the Romanian branch of cigarette maker British American Tobacco registered a growth in the volume of sales, in its market share and in its profit, according to financial data released by the group. "Our performance in terms of volumes sold is mainly due to Kent," say BAT representatives.
